pneumonia

This past Tuesday we took Ethan to the emergency room for hives and found out he has pneumonia! He woke up from his nap with hives all over his body and, what sounded like to me, difficulty breathing. We took he to the hospital right away. After a dose of tylenol and benadryl he was up and walking around and playful again. The doctor wanted to take chest x-rays just to make sure they weren't missing anything, and sure enough they found pneumonia on his lungs. They transferred us to an ER room and started and IV for fluids and antibiotics. Around 7:30 pm they told us we could go home, but to monitor his breathing and temperature. Ethan and I didn't get much sleep the first night. His breathing was still a concern to me on Wednesday, but we had a follow up on Thursday so that made me feel like I could make it 24 more hours. We went in Thursday morning and he wasn't as tight in his chest, but still was concerning to me. He had a good day yesterday and took a long nap. This morning is the first time I feel much better about his breathing. We are going back for another chest x-rayin 5 weeks to make sure the pneumonia is clearing up.

fire station

We were out and about yesterday and decided to stop by the fire station for a visit. He wasn't too sure about it all. Maybe when he is a little older he will be more excited to go there. We had fun seeing through his eyes though :)!

cheerios

We took Ethan to urgent care a few days ago for an ear infection and while we waited he spent his time feeding Kenny his cheerios.

swinging ball

So, Ethan really wanted to play with the ball hanging in Kenny's parents garage and I had good idea a few days later. I hung one from our living room ceiling :). He likes to play with it every once in a while. He especially likes to get up on the end of the couch, take his little bat and swat at it.

rocking chair

Ethan watching the Laker game in his rocker from Grandma and Pop-op Johnson. This rocker was Kenny's dads and then his grandparents had it reupholstered and gave it to Kenny when he was little. Kenny's parents got it out of their attic last weekend and Ethan has enjoyed sitting in it.

toilet paper

This is what I caught him doing the other day!! He took all the toilet paper off the roll and put it in the toilet. At least he knows where it goes :).

piggy bank

Ethan got this piggy bank from the Weaver's and has had a blast putting coins in it. Kenny will come home from work with coins and Ethan knows right away right away what to do with them. He will go to his room and point up at his piggy bank and want to put the coins in. Sometimes if we don't have any coins to put in he will still go in there and point to his bank. I will take it down and take a few coins out just so he can put it back in. When the coins have all been put in he will point back up to put it away. He is growing up so fast!

snuggles with Addie

Lately Ethan has LOVED snuggling with Addie. He will purposefully go to where Addie is resting and sit right in the middle of her legs and play with his toys. He has become so much more interactive with her and has wanted to snuggle with her a lot more. It is so much fun to wach Ethan play with Addie and see how much they love each other!

mustache

Kenny shared his shake with Ethan and he got the cutest milk(shake) mustache :).

up the hill

Ethan wanted to walk up this hill all by himself. It was a little steep for him so Kenny had to help, but he sure was ready to do it all by himself! He is becoming so independant!

the park

One of the nice days in the past few weeks we went to the park to play. He sure did have a lot of fun running in the grass and throwing the ball for Addie.

phone call

This is Ethan talking on the phone with Great Grandma and Grandpa Johnson and Great Aunt Lisa. He wasn't to interested in sitting and actually talking for long, but he sure was talkative and playing in the backround so they could hear.
