A few weeks back some of our firends invited us out on their boat with them. So we all headed to Castaic Lake for a few hours. Ethan had a blast. It took him a few minutes to warm up to the life jacket and being in the middle of the water, but once he did he really seemed to enjoy it. We stopped in a little cove and got to play in the water for a bit, we ate lunch there and after that Kenny tired to knee board. HE didn't do too well and Ethan didn't like him being in the water at all.

Ethan's favorite past time is watching the little video clips we take with our camers on the computer. He will run to the computer and say "baby", wanting to watch himself (baby) on the computer. He he is getting such a little personality since the beginning of summer. He is talking so much more and trying to copy what we do and say.

We went to the parade for the first time this year and Ethan had a blast! He enjoyed all the cars, trucks, horses, fire engines, and motorcycles. He ended up being a professional flag waver by the end of the parade :)!

We went swimming on night before bed abd Ethan loved it. The pool was just his size. He could staand up in the deepest part. He did fall over a couple of times, but got right back up to play. He didn't want to get out when it was time too! He is really enjoying the pool this summer!

Ethan's, Delaine inspired quilt..

Last week when Delaine was here she inspired me to make a quilt for Ethan. She helped me pick out the fabric, I cut 9o, 5 inch squares, then she helped me lay them out. I sewed it all together and even made button holes and sewed buttons on the back to hole the pocket together. My sister gave me a kid sized comforter a while back and I decided to make a duvet cover for it that can also be a blanket.

A couple of weeks ago we were at the Pool's and Ethan and his cousins had fun playing in a bowl of noodles dried beans. Since he had so much fun I thought I would get some for our house. Ethan will often grab his cups and digging tools and ask to play with the noodles.

These are pictures from our latest ER visit. He started out with just a few bumps and after 3 days they multiplied to several all over his chest. The pictures don't really do bumps justice, but thankfully they didn't bother him at all. He was a happy little guy in the morning! The doctor prescribed him a liquid steroid and in a few days the bumps we all gone.

I found this dart board at a garage sale a few weeks back and we have had a lot of fun playing. Ethan loves to go and get the darts when they fall to the ground. He likes to spectate otherwise and sometimes pretend to throw a dart.

This past Tuesday we took Ethan to the emergency room for hives and found out he has pneumonia! He woke up from his nap with hives all over his body and, what sounded like to me, difficulty breathing. We took he to the hospital right away. After a dose of tylenol and benadryl he was up and walking around and playful again. The doctor wanted to take chest x-rays just to make sure they weren't missing anything, and sure enough they found pneumonia on his lungs. They transferred us to an ER room and started and IV for fluids and antibiotics. Around 7:30 pm they told us we could go home, but to monitor his breathing and temperature. Ethan and I didn't get much sleep the first night. His breathing was still a concern to me on Wednesday, but we had a follow up on Thursday so that made me feel like I could make it 24 more hours. We went in Thursday morning and he wasn't as tight in his chest, but still was concerning to me. He had a good day yesterday and took a long nap. This morning is the first time I feel much better about his breathing. We are going back for another chest x-rayin 5 weeks to make sure the pneumonia is clearing up.

We were out and about yesterday and decided to stop by the fire station for a visit. He wasn't too sure about it all. Maybe when he is a little older he will be more excited to go there. We had fun seeing through his eyes though :)!

So, Ethan really wanted to play with the ball hanging in Kenny's parents garage and I had good idea a few days later. I hung one from our living room ceiling :). He likes to play with it every once in a while. He especially likes to get up on the end of the couch, take his little bat and swat at it.

Ethan got this piggy bank from the Weaver's and has had a blast putting coins in it. Kenny will come home from work with coins and Ethan knows right away right away what to do with them. He will go to his room and point up at his piggy bank and want to put the coins in. Sometimes if we don't have any coins to put in he will still go in there and point to his bank. I will take it down and take a few coins out just so he can put it back in. When the coins have all been put in he will point back up to put it away. He is growing up so fast!

Lately Ethan has LOVED snuggling with Addie. He will purposefully go to where Addie is resting and sit right in the middle of her legs and play with his toys. He has become so much more interactive with her and has wanted to snuggle with her a lot more. It is so much fun to wach Ethan play with Addie and see how much they love each other!

They're finished!! I absolutely love them!! My dad worked really hard and I appreciate him so much! There are 2 small things left to do in the master bath (hang mirror and replace the outlet), but other than that they are in full working order.

Over the past few weeks we have been playing a lot of cards and Ethan wanted to join in. I found a deck of card that was a few short and let him play his own card game. The other day he pulled his cards out and I sat him at the table and he played for a few minutes. He looked like such a big boy sitting there entertaining himself with the cards.

Here are pictures of both of our bathroom all patched up. My dad had to cut holes in the drywall so he could do plumbing and recenter the light fixtures. After yesterdays long day of work for Kenny and my dad, it was starting to look put back together. It's easier for me to picture what it will look like when its finished, but it will be nice when it actually is done :)!

My dad and Ethan have become best buddies. Ethan especially loves it when grandpa shares his blarney stone bar with him. Ethan will go into the kitchen, point up where the bars are, and sign "please" very excitedly. I'll say go sit by grandpa and he will run out of the kitchen with a big smile on his face, find grandpa sitting on the couch, and wait for me to bring the bar. He is really enjoying having my dad here and especially the blarney stone bars!

A few weeks back we went to Seal Beach to visit some friends and their daughter, Lyla. I didn't take too many pictures, but they had fun playing together. We went to a really yummy BBQ place for lunch and they had deep fried pickles!!! I, of course, had to order some, but shouldn't have because I frequently want them. And that is a problem because it is an hour dirve!

Here are a few pictures from the night we went to Kenny's work Christmas party. We didn't really want to go, but we did and glad we did. Kenny won Rosetta Stone in Spanish in a raffel and we laughted about it, saying 'what are we going to do with this?' Well, we ended up selling it on eBay and made enough money to buy us a new kitchen stove!! Yay, I have been wanting a new one for a while, but we jsut didnt have the money. Kenny had been sick all week and Ethan caught what he had, thankfully his only lasted for a day and a half and we were able to make it over to is parents for a little trick-or-treating around their neighborhood on Halloween. After we were done we came back and sat in their front yard and handed out candy while Ethan enjoyed his first dumdum, and let me tell you he LOVED it and it was gone in a matter of minutes!

We had a good fourth. We hung out with friends, walked to the Alamo for dinner, played a game, and walked to a park nearby to watch fireworks. Ethan had a late nap and was up for a little bit of the fireworks. Before the fireworks started there were families setting off their own in the parking lot and Ethan couldn't take his eyes off the pretty colors. When they started setting off the big ones, the ones with loud noises, he cried :(. He ended up falling asleep in my arms and stayed that way until the fireworks were over. Maybe we will try it again next year.

I found this back pack at a garage sale for 3 bucks. It is in great condition and was excited to come home and show Kenny. We took Ethan out in it for a test and he LOVED it. He was looking all around, mostly watching the cars drive by. I think he liked the 'taller' perspective of the world (he is normally in his stroller). This is Ethan when he gets up from his naps. When he is up, or its time to wake him up, we go in his room, pat his back a little and say 'good morning'. He slowly lifts his heavy head and gives us a big smile. He is so sweet.

I know this is a little late but better late than never. Ethan's appointment went really well and the dr. said he is just average. A little under the 50th percentile for weight and head size and about the 90th for is length. He is getting so big now and he is even bigger now then the pictures below. He makes us smile everyday!!

Kenny took this video Saturday morning while I was out at garage sales. He has really gotten the hang of the bouncy part of his exersaucer. All the toys that make nose usually go off when he gets bouncing really hard and makes him bounce even more. I feel bad for our downstairs neighbors, it probably sounds like an earthquake to them.

This is a picture of Ethan's first bike ride. He did really well and I think he enjoyed it. We did about a 3 mile round trip ride and it was really nice. It felt good to get out, exercise and enjoy the fresh air.
